Singing in the rain

I went out early this morning to cover a multi-department, multi-city Search Warrant action on a bunch of identity thiefs.

Pouring rain, I'm soaked, the 150 is dry as toast and working happily along. Images in the rain are great as the colors soften but also seem to pop.

The rain cover for the 150 is the one included in the PD150 'kit' that I bought from B&H at about a $200 premium over the camera alone.

The kit includes a very nicely padded firm-side camera bag and the rain cover. A little difficult to put on but it has all the bases covered including the microphone. Transparent side windows so you can see the controls.

Mike is it a Petrol cover? I believe these may be made by Kata for Petrol or vice versa i could be wrong but they seem to be identical covers made in Israel.Good to hear it works well ive been looking to buy a cover for my 2000 these seem decently priced. Is there enough room to get both hands up inside the cover?

Petrol

Yes, I can get both fat hands up if I need to. The bottom is open but can be closed with Velcro as can the back. A velcro cover opens to get at the VCR controls which are still protected. Kind of a cover over a cover.

A sealed pocket allows you to wrap your hand around the top handle and carry the camera in that manner.

The clear sides allow you to use the LCD panel when folded flat.

I ddn't try to change tape with the cover on. Doubt that it could be done.

I think that the Petrol people used to work for Kata. They seem to make everything pretty well the same but with just a little extra care and quality.

ya got me thinking now. I do have some spare cash burning a hole in my pocket.
