Need Adapter Plans
Well, I tried searching the DV Mag website. Very cool, but I could not find the article authored by Mr. Rose that I need. What I am looking for is the plans for an XLR adapter that has the capaisator[sp] that will block the dc voltage coming out of the vx.

Hosatech cables are under $10 at B&H. You will have a hard time finding a 90 degree molded male stereo jack. blocking capacitor

Best capacitance should be betwen 100nF to 1uF. After I checked service manual for VX2000, microphone circuit is blocked wit 100nF non polarized capacitor. |
so, what is the best capacitor to use then for the vx-2000?

Lower value of capacitor will cut-off low frequencies for speech is usualy value 33nF to 47 nF. For wider range of frequencies ( like music frequencies, use 10MF to 47 MF.
100MF and up will not hurt the system, just is becoming to bulky to fit inside any connector. In my aplication ( preamplifier for microphone) used with VX2000 I used 47MF polarized capacitor 16V tantalum. |
