Well I was suppose to receive the cam today. I didn't. Turns out the professional Sony Repair center forgot to ship it. Now they are rushing it to me overnight.

All I have to say is this repair center is the worst I have ever dealt with. They are anything but professional. They overcharged me and forgot to ship the cam. How can I have the confidence that the cam is even fixed? The cam was fixed last week, but not shipped.

My advice to others; if you deal with this so-called pro sony repair center in NJ, stay on top of them, or you may find yourself falling through the cracks of a giant sleeping corporation. I've been overcharged and forgotten about. Thanks Sony.

I thought by buying a pd170 I had access to a serious professional Sony repair center. I can see there is no advantage in going to the profesional center. They are absolutley the worst.

They don't even send an email with a tracking # when your repair is complete. You just hang around your front door for about a week hoping the repair was sent because Sony customers have nothing better to do.

Hell, they don't even send an itemize list of the repairs before you pay.
I don't see how Sony customers are willing to put up with this.

I think I have the same problem. After 4 years of good works the image now is totally without red tint.

Had same problem. Sent to Sony, they fixed in about 10 days. No charge

Be careful. My serial number was not listed on the internet, but when I called Sony they said it was included in the list of defective Sony products.
Then they charged me over $600 for the repair. I had to call many times to get them to understand that my cam was defective. I am still waiting to see an actual Bill with the list of repairs. I do not like the way the repair center is run and I do not agree with the flat rate repair. I guess have to find a place locally that I can trust or go back to Armatos for the next problem or cleaning. I am not spending $600 for a head cleaning at Sony.

Sorry to hear about all your problems Richard. But I'm glad you were finally able to get some relief for all your time.

I think this thread has pretty well run its course so it's now closed.
