Any inside info on who will make a fisheye adapter for the EX1?

I'll take one too
 

I will likely be wanting a fish eye as well. Sony is making the wide angle adapter from what I understand. Surely 16X9 or someone must be working on one given the buzz. Anyone?

Uhm... do you really want a fisheye lens?

I think you probably want a wide angle converter, as linked above.

A fisheye lens introduces significant distortion to the image. Like this 15mm Canon EF:

A wide angle lens may give you a wider angle, but it minimizes distortion, like this 14mm Canon EF:

Yes a fisheye! I also use wide angle and have ordered one but fisheye is much better for some of my shoots. The clients love it and the stock footage eat it up! The distortion is what I am looking for on the water with some specific shots.

Cool. I like the distortion too, but it comes up so infrequently for me. I do a similar effect in post when I need it, but it sucks compared to a lens.

I've been looking since I wrote my reply earlier and I haven't found a fisheye lens announced for the ex1. I'd guess it'll take a few months before one turns up from a third party.

Depending on your budget and practical requirements, one possible route you could take without waiting *months* after release is to use a 35mm adapter and get hold of a stills fisheye, like this one:

I purchased this exact lens (ebay) for 'specials' to use with my Redrock M2 + Z1 and find it does acheive exactly what I need it for.

Personally, the extra flexibility a 35mm adapter brings to my shoots in terms of available tools is IMO well worth the extra investment (at Redrock prices) plus you have all that beautiful shallow DOF to play with if desired.

Now I'm just waiting (and praying) for someone to confirm that the EX1 and Redrock M2 will 'mate-up' happily so that I can continue using my collection of Nikons from my current Z1/M2 setup - only this time recording at the full HD resolution.

I am interested in looking into an adapter once I have used the camera. But a lot of my shooting in on the water in a tight areas on fast moving boats so the extra weight and swing room would be tough. But for shooting stock on a tripod or land shoots yes I just might make that move.

Eric Century Optics is in my sights but they move slow on new product.
