The price is right!

I wouldn't be surprised if this was without any cards though, which would make the price closer to $9000 compared to an Ex-1 with 2 - 8G cards.
Philip. any idea about the hard disk? Have you tested that yet and when it will be available, price, etc? Lenny Levy |

Also, FWIW, I believe Sony got the message on the $13K price tag. The issue was raised by many, including myself. -gb- |
Maybe they will also get the message regarding the outrageous price of the SxS cards.

Wow - so much for $13K! I really think that, if this price holds, it will drive used EX1 prices down, at least for a little bit while people are getting rid of EX1's in favor of the EX3. Nice work, Sony!
Oh, and the expensive SxS cards? Seems to me to be a good argument for going with the Flash XDR or nanoFlash. |
I'll be glad to buy a used ex1 located in the US to help someone transition to a ex3. Let me know

I talked to one of the reps @ NAB he said the hard disc unit would be around $1000.00 US. |

if the EX3 was first thought to be $13,000 or even $11,500, then at $8,300, that's 72% of list, which makes little sense as the EX1 is about 85% of list selling now at 6449.
either sony lowered the prices for the EX3 or a markdown of the EX1 is in order. at the same 72%, then EX1 may soon sells for 5400 in the US paul |
Maybe the HPX-500 rebate put some pricing pressure on the market.

My dealer in San Rafael CA, Snader & Assoc., put the price exactly the same as B&H $8230 and said that Sony had told them late July.
I'm happy that includes at least 1 8G card. |
All I can say is, "WOW!" I was close to ordering the new Canon XL H1a as I am someone who wants a shoulder-cam so that ruled out the EX1 and I thought the EX3 was out too because of the $13k price tag, but this new info is great news indeed.
Kudos to Sony! |
