Just did a few tests in the living room

Essentially 60 p picked it up for about 4 frames and interlaced for 2-3 frames. All of the other frames are not as bad.


A flash in any video is distracting. With the EX1 it is distractingly different.

When It gets dark I will do Sparklers and Ground Flowers.

I've now done over 30 weddings with the EX 1 this year. (33 to be precise!)

Last year I put the V1 "on ice" for weddings and went back to using an FX 1 because the rolling shutter on slo mo was AWFUL!

But the Ex 1 seems to handle it much better, (even during slo mo), and as stated before, people seemed to have got used to seeing the effect on news footage anyway now.

To be honest, every digital camera used by every guest at every wedding reception has from one to 10 "pre flashes" built into the darned things, so not one person has ever commented on the "rolling shutter effect" in my weddings, and I'm sure they would look at me blankly if I brought it up.

As stated previously, the picture quality at a dark reception or concert is what get the customer's attention, not the rolling shutter effect, even when there are 35 amateur photgraphers all taking pictures of a bride cutting the cake!

Just enjoy the camera and what it can do! When I get it right, it blows me away!....(and my clients)!
