The problem is, that the CF reader won't fit into the slot.. (I think).

I just ordered a SD reader from Datafab today and the new Extreme III SDHC card. Will try and post my findings.

Check out this other thread to see what the CF adapter looks like installed...

look at post #29.

I would not want that in my EX1.

Too bad the Lexar doesn't work for HQ. By the way, what is the write speed specification on that Lexar expresscard SSD? Lexar doesn't list the specs on their site.

FWIW I just shot 27 minutes straight (filled up the card) HQ 1080/60i on a Lexar 8GB SSD card with 1.11, no problems. Overcranking, forget it.

Hello!
Did someone tried this Transcend ExpressCard/34 Solid State Disk, Up to 16GB?

Thanks!

Yes i've tried it, my supplier has them in stock.
I tried to overcrank at about 30fps and instantly spat the dummy.
I didn't try it in normal hq mode, but i wouldn't be surprised if it didn't work.
Also, the price was more expensive per gb than the transcend sdhc card, so it makes no sense to buy something bigger and not reliable for more money.
For now i'd say stick to the tried and tested Kensington adaptor with either sandisk or transcend cards.
I'm using the transcend with no problems.

Paul.

Has anyone tried the Belkin ExpressCard Adaptor?

Has anyone tried to use the Belkin Express Card Media? It says is has a transfer speed up to 480 Mbps. Picked it up at an Apple Store and thought I should check with you before I open it.

I'm curious about this too. They are now offering a 32gig version of it too.

I've tried Transcend Express cards and they do not work in HQ mode and throw up errors in SP mode with long clips. I would NOT use them.

I tried one 8 GB Transcend SSD Express card as indicated in my previous post, but it doesn't work in any shooting mode (I've tried each mode, from 1080 25P to 720 25P). It crashes after about 19-22 secs in any configuration (in 1080 25P it crashes in only 3 secs).
So it's not a good deal! I think 32 GB will be slower than 8 GB...
In 1080 25P it is not possible restoring the media, nor formatting it from EX1: I need doing it from a PC. In the other modes I can restoring and formatting it by the camera.

Hope this can help for not wasting time and money.

I'll use it wit my laptop!

regards,
Luca
