Mixing 720/1080p

I've read a bunch of discussion about downconverting to dvd, but lost when it comes to mixing 720/1080p for bluray. I've been shooting some weddings and do overcranking off snd on. The remainder I just continue to shoot at 720p to stay in one format. Should I shoot all the rest 1080 and just uprez the 720 to 1080 when burning a bluray? Has anyone done this? I haven't burned one yet and feel like I'm missing out on the full potential of the camera all the time. I'm also concerned about burning a standard dvd since the bbc said to shoot in 720 for dvd output... Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

The first thing I shot with a Panasonic HVX200 was a short film. Because we were to shoot one or two quick clips/ scenes in slow motion I shot the whole movie in 720/24p mode. I regret this now because we never actually did shoot those scenes and the whole movie could've gained about 20% more resolution (and no change in data space because I wasn't shooting native.)

Moral of the story? Shoot everything in 1080/24p. Shoot your slow motion stuff in 720p and uprez. I can definitely tell the difference between 1080 and 720p on my 57" TV. 720p on most TVs 46" and smaller it won't make a bit of a difference.
