Expresscard SSD VERBATIM vs SxS ?
Hi!
Does anyone know how the expresscard SSD cards from VERBATM work with the EX1/3 ? I found this info: 16/03/2009: Verbatim with SSD ExpressCard for PC and Mac | Verbatim Europe - Data Storage, Computer & Imaging Consumables Everything seems to be just perfect - its even PCI interface (not USB), and the price is also very nice 99,99$ for 16GB 149,99$ for 32GB & 299,99$ for 64GB (at least for the polish market) I've send them a question,,, but no one answered. Would be nice if someone said that they are ok:) |
I guess were going to have to wait until someone manages to get hold of one to try. Certainly looks like it might do the job.

Sounds like great news. Thanks.
http://dpnow.com/5803.html 64GB for £243, fits completely inside a laptop, so it will fit fully inside an EX I guess? Hopefully it will be out very soon. |
Duncan, even if the cards will work - the 64gb propably wont be compatible. The EX1 /3 needed an soft. update to read the 32 original SxS cards, and this is an analogical situation.... but there is always hope:)

Yes , the Verbatim express cards use PCI express interface. What it doesn't have
is the SxS driver on the card. It will not work. This information was received from Verbatim National Sales Management. |

SDHC adapters dont need or have a driver - simple usb interface

Wish I had spotted the thread earlier... I can however confirm that my 16 GB Verbatim SSD Express card does NOT work with my Sony EX1.
Shame. Brian |
