BNC spiggot rubber cap on EX-1 keeps falling off

Hi,

How's everything going today? Good I hope.

Does anyone have thoughts about how to keep the rubber cap from falling off on the HD/SD-SDI BNC connector? I can imagine a project involving glue and tether. Anyone have experience with this type of do it yourself operation? Just trying to learn from someone who has done it already, preferably a more elegant way than glue. Or does somebody sell a better cap that will stay on. I hear another inflated price product idea coming on guys. :0

Thanks in advance

When did you get your EX1?
The original cap on the older EX1 had this issue but Sony replaced with a better fitting cap. I'm under the impression if you contact Sony you can get the newer better cap.

I got my EX1 early last year. I believe that at one point after removing the EX1 from the carton there indeed was a cap. Poof! Gone since. I haven't worried about it since either. I suppose if I worked in harsh conditions I might get a new cap. I thought of fashioning one from a BNC plug, I have plenty. It would be locked on then but that little task got merged with all the other things that have lower priority.

the best would be to find either a bnd/cinch adapter where ou close the hole on the cinch side or better (because shorter) a BNC 50 Ohms terminator where you removed the 50 Ohms resistor. Both are metallic and are attached like a BNC, so no risk to loose them

Get a new replacement from Sony.

Regarding the BNC plug, anything that protrudes even a small amount is just that might of a risk it gets knocked into and bent.
