Urgent Need of 4 x 4 IR (IR680) filter
Hello,
I am in Australia and in urgent need of 4 x 4 IR (IR680) filter. I have had a Tiffen on order for well over 6 weeks and it looks like it's not going to get here in time for job in 10 days time. I can not have contaminated blacks, is anyone aware who would have stock on hand for sale. Many Thanks |
Have you tried to email Ryan at Schneider (its a Schneider filter). I'm sure you can find on this forum somewhere.

Many thanks Leonard I just found out that one is getting airmail to me should be here early next week.

Who did you get it from?
|
Hi Lenoard it's a Tiffen 4X4 IR (IR680) T1 [W44IR]
Tiffen FIlters In Australia it's available from from Video and Photographic Accessories. Photo and Video Accessories : PhotoVideo.com.au |
ok, maybe it's just me. but, i don't get the IR problem everyone is talking about. Is this a per camera basis type of problem because I have not seen any problem with the output of blacks from my ex1.
|
Hi Nathan it's a combination of lighting conditions and reflective material. It will show up most when the source lighting is from QI lights Redheads, Blondes, making them more brownish. If you do a search on this site for “IR Contamination” you will find plenty of examples. It really depends on the type of video work you do, I do a lot of theatre work and interviews on larger set's that use this type of light and I want my blacks to be black and not brownish.

oh ok. well thanks for the heads up. I'm going to stay away from those lights. Usually I provide my own lighting anyways. This sounds like reason enough to get some kinoflo diva's.
