EX3 shoulder-upgrade by dm-accessories

Hi:
On my EX3 I already have this dm-reinforcement plate:
DM-Accessories - EX3-PLATE Reinforcement Plate for EX3 Camcorders

Now I am thinking of putting on this dm-shoulder-upgrade:
DM-Accessories - EX3-PLATE to EX3-SHOULDER upgrade

Does anybody already have it and is it a good buy? Does ist really help to give the EX3 a better shoulder-rest?

Thanx!

I have it and I love it especially as I use a Tiffin steadystick in the front. Steady Stick at DVcreators.net
Leaves me with two hands to operate the camera and I have little to no fatigue. With just the dm shoulder support you still have to support a lot of front weight.

I use the DM shoulder mount but with the Eng Rig Pro from dvtec.

While a more expensive solution than the Tiffin, I think it is a far more robust solution complete with Sony wedge plate and adjustable rails.

Ned, how useful/usable is the shock absorber in the rig's pole?

Vincent Oliver November 18th, 2009 03:04 AM

The newer version of the DM baseplate and shoulder mount is excellent, far better than the original version which was a two piece baseplate.

I have used this for the past six months and it provides exceptional stability to the camera.

The shock absorber in the pole is very effective. Mind you, it is not a Steadicam. It does provide a certain amount of shock absorbtion but most importantly it allows the camera to be positioned and then locked down.

Sorry, Ned, but I see no Eng Rig Pro on the dvtec site. I see an EngRig (not Pro) and I see a DvRigPro. So, which one is it that you recommend? Because I sure need a decent rig for my EX3 (for which I have also ordered the Redrock 35 mm adapter).

I have the Ex3 Camera and the BEBOB COCO-EX3-V attached to the bottom of it for my VLock batteries and sennheiser radio mic.
I also have the TLS VCT14-Adapter that allows use of Sony VCT-14 quick release tripod plate.
Everything work OK but I would like the camera to be shoulder mounted.

I was thinking of getting this shoulder mount.
DM-Accessories - EX3-PLATE to EX3-SHOULDER upgrade
and attach it to the bottom of the EX3 with the Bebob attach too. Jeff told me it would, he supplies longer screws.

Just wondering, would I also need the pivoting back plate and could I ask, hows the padding on these mounts sticking it, has any come loose with ware.
Going from the picture, I don't see any protective material wrapped around it.

Thanks in advance.

I must have just added the Pro by accident-- it is ENG Rig
