Safe area for 16:9??
 

Hello,
how i can display the safe area for 16:9 in the lcd of my ex1r?
The 1920x1080 is teh same safe area with Pal Dvcam?

What do you mean by 'safe area'? The days of overscan displays have gone, so what you see in the v'finders will be what you see on your NLE and on the vast majority of flat screen TVs and projection screens. If you're thinking old CRT displays, then keep the titles and action within an imaginary 10% border.

It should be there in the viewfinder section of the menu.
I suppose you got your camera with a manual? ;-)

A sidenote: offcourse there is no over/underscan in your NLE... but people are still using 'old-fashioned tubes' so if you want to be on the safeside: use the safety. But on the 'newer' tubes the margins are smaller than in the '80's...

And even modern consumer LCD or Plasma cut of some of the picture, usually 3-5%.

Internet video does not unless you crop it yourself, I know I do, to match what people see on TV's.

And anything submitted for broadcast should follow the standard action and title safe areas.

My Sony Bravia LCD has a menu setting to show all pixels. Out of the box, it was disabled (set to overscan). I'll bet this isn't something the average consumer would think to change, so I suspect there are still plenty of people who aren't seeing the full frame.
