Sharpening

Hi all

might have posted this in the FCP forum but is about footage shot with EX1, may be the moderator will decide to move it.
I'm one of those who prefer to shoot with detail off. I am now willing to sharpen a bit some footage I just shot and I'm wondering if FCP users sharpen before or after sending the clip to color for level adjustments. And also: since Color outputs Prores HQ the EX1 files is it better to do the sharpening after converting into Prores anyways? Do you use Sharpen, Unsharp Mask? Can you tell me some parameters to start with?
Thanks a lot

pietro

I use Vegas, but the general rule is that if you are downconverting, you should sharpen after the downconversion to avoid uncorrectable artifacts. I use Unsharp Mask.
