A silly solution I thought I'd share.
 

I love my EX3 but the lens just didn't go wide enough for me.

I have a very light RED EYE wide angle adapter that fits and works well...but of course I can't zoom with it.

Purchased my 77mm zoom through wide eye from 16X9 and love it...however the added weight makes the camera even more nose heavy than it already is. But I love the wide shots I can get and zoom through with it.

I did two full days of handheld work earlier this week and my back did ok...I've been doing this long enough to know how to take care of that but my wrist really took a beating from supporting the extra weight of the lens with the wide angle adapter on it. Seventeen grams sounds light enough...until you've been supporting it for eight hours a day straight chasing around young high school football players.

I don't want to add any kind of contraption onto my EX3 to give me some fake shoulder mount....nothing against those products, I just want to keep the camera physically as small as possible.

My solution? Went down to Sports Authority and bought a pair of wrist guards worn by roller bladers.

Put the left hand one on a shelf and put a small patch of rubber on the "guard" part of the one for my right hand. It fits well under the lens and takes all the pressure off of my wrist while still leaving me with my "small" camera. The little slice of rubber gives me enough friction to keep the lens from sliding off of the smooth plastic of the "guard" on my right hand and actually lets me relax my wrist more...which makes me a happy older guy!
