Data Rate question with FCP
1 Attachment(s)
Hi, i have a sony EX3 and Canon 7D, i use stream clip to transcode the canon files into ProRes LT, and XD Cam transfer/Convertfiles for the Sony. So when i open the both up in FCP, Why has the canon have a better Data rate, should the sony be better ? see pic.

Re: Date Rate question with FCP
If I read your post correctly, you've transcoded the Canon files so the bit rate is not related to what you shot, but what you chose as the transcoded destination. On the other hand, the Sony files are rewraps of the source, not transcoded at all, and the bit rates reflect the actual shoot.
In other words, the Canon bit rates are meaningless in this context. Cheers, GB |

So, is that the best i get (data rate ?) from the sony, did i see something about 35mps ?? not to sure, just want to get the highest quality from the camera.

Re: Date Rate question with FCP
4.3 MegaBytes is the same as 35 megabits -- you use MB for MegaBytes and mb for megabits. 8 bits to the byte, so 4.3MB=35mb
