Can't ingest XDCAM footy into Final Cut Pro X

Having a noob moment, trying to get EX1r XDCAM footage from a hard drive into FCP-X.

1. I loaded the FCPX plug-in PDZK-LT2_1 1.1.0 from the Sony site.

2. I loaded XDCAM Browser 2.1 from the Sony site.

Footage appears in XDCAM Browser, no problem. All is well. When I hit the import to Final Cut button, it opens final cut and imports green footage only. All efforts to open footage in FCP X show the green screen.

What is not talking to what, here? I've shut down after reloading the plug-in and still the plug-in does not seem to be talking to my copy of FCP-X

is there some little button I should be punching somewhere?
