MTF Adapter - Nikon to F3
 

I am confused. Their website states that full frame lenses and this adapter create a crop factor of 1.5 but DX (APS-C) lenses do not have a crop factor. I know that any SLR lens will have a crop factor of 1.5 with the S35 sensor of the F3 but how does a lens itself create a crop factor?

APS-C is very close to 3-perf Super35 size. MTF are stating correctly that if you take a picture with an APS-C camera, then take that lens and slap it on an F3, the field of view is basically the same.

Straight up, David's right - if you've been using glass on an APS-C sensor camera, the field of view is practically the same on the PMW-F3 with the MTF adapter.

The "crop" comes into play when you're thinking in terms of a "full-frame" sensor like the 5DmkII or actual 35mm film for SLR film cameras.

It is very close. Within a millimeter on the width.

I was confused when I saw that statement on the MTF site as well. The wording could have been clearer.
