I am going to start to Rev.Eng. Nikon protocol in these days.

By now I still don't know if is possible to move the focus motor as well as I can do with Canon

(the idea is to have in the future the same control box for both Canon and Nikon)

Is the Nikon stabilization also in the lens? If so these adapter makers ought to be making it part of the package. I don't know why I thought it was in the camera for some reason.

The Canon and Nikon stabilizers, and associated electronics, are inside the lens. I would guess that once the lens is DC powered ,it's just a matter of turning it on and off on the lens itself.

Yes it should be case of sending the correct signal to the lens to enable the switch on the lens. On the Canon's the switch on the lens is overridden by the data sent to the lens AFAIK. Not sure about the Nikons.

Yes, you must send a sequence of codes to the lens to make the OS works

Matteo,
If you could make just a small controller to simply enable OS or IS or whatever they call it on the Nikon lenses they would sell to everyone using them on non Nikon cameras.
To me and I suspect lots of others the rest of the controller is not a big deal. I can already pull iris with a nikon adapter and remote focus control is cool but is minor except for jibs. But a little OS adapter I could mount on the camera - BINGO - where do I sign up?

Any word on this or other projects to enable VR on Nikons? A Nikon mount with manual iris control that allowed my to enable VR would be awesome. I don't really need autofocus or iris control from the camera. Ya it would be nice but mechanical control via an adapter on the FS100 or F3 is fine with me but not being able to use VR sucks. Imagine the Nikon 70-200 with VR enabled! That's one of the best lenses ever even without VR.
