FS5 - "DETAIL" settings does nothing?

I have had my new FS5 for three days now and overall, I'm loving it.

However, it's 1:1 pixel readout creates a sightly softer image than the wonderfully over sampled UHD images that we see with the X70/AX100, RX10-II and A7S-II and A7R-II. (Although I don't own an A6300, we are seeing many web videos now that show it's incredible oversampling/scaling ability)

I started tinkering with the "detail" settings in the FS5's picture profiles. On the X70, the setting changes are easily visible and very obvious, especially so on a large UHD monitor. But on the FS5, with it's similar "detail" options and settings, they seem to have little effect at all. Even extreme values seem to only effect the image ever so slightly.

Anybody else notice this on their FS5?

I am not near the camera but I think you need to engage manual or manual set option for the manual settings to do anything. Like I said I dont have it in front of me but feeling pretty confident there was something, 2 options to click in menu

It works as expected on my camera but I agree the changes are very subtle -- as they need to be on a pro camera such as this. There shouldn't be any need to crank the detail up dramatically, and if we could, a lot of people would shoot themselves in the foot with detail settings that are totally wrong. I believe that Sony is basically saving people from themselves.

You need to venture into the Manual Set menus to see the effect because just changing the Level menu on it's own won't do it. Try changing all the settings to their maximum value and then cycle the ON/OFF menu. You will definitely see a difference.
