Could be useful for FS5 users if it ever gets to market. Alternatively a company like Sony could just add a turbo version of OSS into the camera body.

No.

What this does is it takes a compressed video stream and recompresses it during stabilization. Total junk. Your 100mbps XAVC-S will be turned into a mere 10mbps YouTube 4K quality... FOR ACQUISITION.

The whole thing also smells of clickbait.

Since you're starting with whatever resolution the camera has and using a program in post to basically crop and remove movement - that will reduce resolution, but shouldn't be THAT drastic.

The concept seems sound, and apparently is at least at a working prototype stage - not sure what effect the orientation of the card in different cameras might be on the micro gyros, but it's a novel approach to "in camera" stabilization.
