Merlin - Steadytracker Extreme
 

Anyone use the Steadytracker Extreme? I've seen the Merlin videos, very impressive. Would like some input on the Steadytracker Extreme. They've got a nice "how to balance" video on their website. New to the "steady cam pods". I use a tripod a lot but would like to get those floating on air shots once in a while without the noticable jerking.

i have the steady tracker. it's smooth, but quite heavy with the a1. it's not something that you will want to shoot with all day. it's also pretty bulky. it took sometime to get used to. i would often bump it with my legs if i was running or walking fast with it. but, you can run with it and have very smooth shoots...like "evil dead" style. it balances very easy as well.

That type of rig will be the most effective with fast moving shots like Eric describes. A Merlin will be work in a much more subtle environment. All depends on what your expectations are.
