JVC HD100 - Glidecam options?

Hi guys

The glidecam 2000 seems to top out at 6lbs - The JVC HD100 without EVF, headphone and with small battery is just about 6lbs.

Should I just bite the bullet and go for the 4000, 6lbs being right in the middle of its loading or do you think the 2000 will be good to go?

Cheers
Mat

Spend the little extra. We got the 2000 for our FX1 and its pushing it.

You may also want to consider the smoothshooter arm and vest too. As with a camera of that weights plus the rig you will really struggle to hold the rig handheld for more than a few minutes at a time.

I agree with Danny. Also, you want to have the ability to get the most out of your equipment without having to re-buy. So say if you needed to add ab or idx batteries to your cam later, you want a sled that can take that extra weight now. With my evf and a hytron 50 attached, my cam comes in between 8 and 9 lbs.

OK....many thanks for the tips guys. This is kind of what I thought folks might say but its a decision made now!

Cheers

The 4000 also has a wide sled so you can position the weights further out and give you more inertia. This gives you smoother pans and helps it feel like a bigger, heavier rig.
