Glidecam 2000 and 1 lb camcorder
Greetings -
I just purchased the Glidecam and my camcorder weighs in at 1 lb, which is (according to Glidecam support) about 1 lb short of the required weight to function properly. They say that 2 - 2.5 lbs is the minimum weight. If anyone has had experience with using the Glidecam 2000 with a lightweight camcorder, I'd love to hear about how you added more weight to the camcorder or to the plate that the camcorder attaches to. Any input is appreciated, warren |
If it were me, with a light camera like that...
I would return the Glidecam it and get the Hollywood Lite VS-1 instead. The VS-1 Handheld would be awesome for something that small and light--and you could operate all day without fatigue with it and get some unbelievable footage. Otherwise, as what I've gleaned here in this forum... Load up the camera with stuff you need anyway.. A "sliding plate" quick-release from Bogen. A heavier battery(with added bonus of longer running time.) And perhaps adding a high quality wideangle or anamorphic lens to boost the weight. Otherwise, you will have to improvise ways of adding weight to the top of the glidecam... Electric taping some lead weights/washers? |
Thanks for your comments.
