Have any of you tried the Blackbird stabilizer w/EX1?

I just ordered one of these from B&H. I was just curious if any of you EX1 users have tried the Blackbird and if so, any thoughts? I struggled too much with balancing my Glidecam 4000 and I heard this one is easier. I've seen it used (online) with the Canon 5D Mark II, which I also have, but a couple people mentioned it can work with the EX1 too.

Oops, I thought this question was EX1 specific enough to be in the EX1 forum because I'm *only* interested in EX1 users of this device.

Hi Buck. I would say the camera is too heavy for my arms. Can be balanced with all the weights included easily. I can sustain longer due to the design having the cg just above the hand. That reduces the vertical bobbing. However I really think the EX1 is not cut out for handheld stabilizer work.

I have tried the EX1 with the Glidecam HD4000, and its too heavy for proper job. I couldnt balance it on a merlin without an additional accessories plate (didnt try). Works very well on the steadicam pilot thou but thats a complete rig.

It's a bit heavy for longer shots, but it works well,
