xl1s and glidecam 4000

I have an xl1s with a century optic .7 converter, can the glidecam handle that weight?

The Glidecam 4000 can support up to 10 pounds. If you don't load up the XL1 it should be OK. But the real question is can you hold all that weight at the end of your arm. Arnold can, but can you? Myself, I'm not in that kind of shape any more. I would need the forearm brace or the body-pod. If your unsure, you can always get the 4000 and add the brace or pod if it proves too much. Or get a membership to a gym. I have used the 2000 with a VX2000 and it was fine with the lighter camera. The 4000 I'm sure will work, but how long can you hold it comfortably?

With my camera stbilizer loaded up with the XL1, monitor, monitor batteries, and what not, I find that I can hold it steady during movment, but tricky to hold steady while still. You may not need extra support if you are using it for 10 second long shots, but if you plan on using it longer than that... :)
