Hi Damien,

Thanks

No, I don't want to buy the steadicam. I diy a stablizer myself and is in process of the patent application. I just want to see myself about the performance of the flyer as lots of people like you praise it so nice.

Regards
Leigh

Can you explain this response Leigh? I'm understanding you are trying to put a patent on your homebuilt rig?

Hi Lars,

You are right.

As usual, for business practise to get a patent to get some business advantage.

Leigh,
without going into details (untill the patent is possibly granted of course..)
What are you patenting? I presume that you have some new inovation relating to the system in the works? is it some part of the system, or an accessory, or do you have some compleatly new system?

Hi Mikko,

Thank you for your interest.

That patent mainly relates to the arm.

Leigh,

I have gone through the same process and it's not much fun. Fortunately my improvements have a patent pending status at the present time. I'm not good at all the paperwork stuff.

I will be trying out the Flyer in April at NAB. Since I know bunches more about steadycam systems (thanks to Charles P., this forum, and my own research) now I will have some idea of what I looking at.

You live in New Zeland right? Is the patent process difficult there and do you have to (or want to) get a US patent? I don't even know if someone outside of the US can get a US patent.

Tery

Yes, I live in Auckland, New Zeland. The patent process is quite easy, I just let the pro do the work and I want to apply for a US patent otherwise would not be worth the effort I put in. I am sure there are lots of foreign patents granted in USA.

Leigh
