Glidecam X-22 with HPX 370 Tension Advice
Hello everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations on the tension settings for using a Glidecam X-22 with a Panasonic AG-HPX370P? I'm a Tech. Assistant at a University and we just got these two new pieces of equipment - and I'm new to the Glidecam world anyways. Any advice on tension settings - or setup in general (I have to teach setup to students) would be very much appreciated. Thanks. Tim |

I don't know what resources Glidecam offers but Tiffen/Steadicam sells the indispensable "Steadicam Operators Handbook" and the DVD "Steadicam EFP Training" tape.
Though these resources have some specific application to Steadicam brand (and the EFP Training tape is over 20 years old) the principals are timeless and apply across all stabilizer brands. They are the undisputed gold-standard for information on setup and operating stabilizers. About $45 for the book and $20 for the DVD. For specific Glidecam setup procedures, have you contacted Glidecam yet? They are known for their excellent customer service. |

The arm needs to be horizontal when the sled's attached. Not pointing up or down, just horizontal.
