How easy is it to obtain good results with this?

I assume there is some form of glass in there? Sounds a bit too
cheap for $96.... but show us some pictures when you get it!?

No glass, it's just a bendable tube, plastic element or two and removable aperture disks. This concept was done by Sima, minus the bendable tube, in the early '80's. They can create some very stunning imagery.
