Holy holograms batman, that's the type of thing, that makes me think if Scotty time travelled back in time to meet the inventor of the tricorder and the holodeck, that's the guy he'd meet.
A plenoptic camcorder based on this camera means only 1 camera is needed for most shoots, all other angles of view could be calculated. You could even calculate dolly moves and crane shots. But I'm sure it's too data and computing intensive to be practical right now.
If you extended the recording chip/medium past the visible spectrum you could even calculate things like temperature, chemicals in the air, wind velocity, etc. based on the timing and quality of the light - just like a Star Trek camcorder, err, I mean tricorder.
