Live streaming options???

I am looking for hardware to run this situation :

Live Video Feed --> Laptop --> projector

The live feed has to be wireless because they are going to be moving in and out of the crowd and other places. Is there small cheap camcorders that can do this? What equipment would I need?

Hi David

So you are not really sending up out to a CDN ? All you seem to want to do is film with a camcorder and send the video wirelessly to a laptop ? If that's the case all you really need is a camera mounted transmitter and receiver at the laptop surely?

Please, please, please to all posters if you need advice what to buy to do this or that. Please give a budget so that you can be better advised. There's cheap, prosumer and professional out there a lot to choose from.

Yes maybe the transmitter is the way to go, but I don't know exactly what I am looking for :

wifi enabled camcorder?
transmitter?

My budget is around $500 I suppose

That is a low budget for wireless video. These are the closest I know:

Note they are in the 5ghz range and may get some interference.

If you are no more than about 50ft from the camera to the laptop and in direct line of site, you could simply try using a video sender with the transmitter powered by a battery..

Ok, but I do need a wifi enable camcorder right? How about if I used an ipad?

Wirecast can use IOS devices as cameras

It looks like you need a dedicated video card for it too though I think. I just want it to go through my laptop connected to a projector - and project on the screen

It certainly runs best. I stream with laptops all the time but I make sure they have dedicated graphics cards. What kind of laptop are you using?

What you need for your price is a DIY of this. Ex-ProŽ AV-Pro Wireless HDMI Kit 2K4K 1080p HDbitT Transmitter & Reciever Kit HDW300 with IR Control (200m)
And the only batteries I could find were these http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/produc...FcUcGwod5ikJjA
Obviously, you need to find a way to put this all together with some sort of cage.

I have an old laptop, I suppose I would need to upgrade or at least borrow a newer one. Do macbooks have dedicated graphic cards?
