SpaxeX are the ultimate in launch coverage, now with amazing audio

SpaceX have always set a great standard when it came to coverage of their launches, whether successful or entertainingly explodey. And you really notice how good theirs is when one of their competitors are having a launch.

With their Startship #13 launch, I've noticed their streaming is now in 4K and the image quality is just gorgeous. But there is something even more amazing ...

The audio.

Somebody must have run some microphones around the launch facility so that we could have a stereo field in the mix, and it's absolutely glorious. I can't recommend highly enough the sound of the engine start while wearing your choice of quality headphones. It's up there with what you would want in a movie.

Even when the rocket is well clear of the pad you're getting great audio of the engine thrust.

Also highly recommended viewing is the slow motion 4K video they have posted of the group of raptor engines as the craft makes it up past the tower. Again, absolutely pristine footage (with audio) that is a joy to watch. (alternate link)

No doubt, their technology is impressive. But it would take a lot more than a roaring engine in stereo and 4k video to get me to go to x.com for anything. And it's a shame, that someone as brilliant as Musk has ended up like this, bragging about the damage he did to our government agencies while giggling and waving a chain saw. Since you aren't from the US, that probably doesn't color your opinion as much as it does mine.

Then there are the suckers who lost 50% of their investment when they bought right after the IPO (or a 15% loss if they were in on the IPO). I don't know... time will tell, they may all end up being rich in the end. But I'll just pass on all of that.

Really - no offense - their rockets and the way they cover the launches is certainly cool, so I understand the enthusiasm. And Musk has plenty of fans here in the US too. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I’ve always thought the notion of isolating your input because you don’t like people’s politics, practices or principles a bit odd. A theatrical production that is really good getting scrapped because their funding came from a bank who support Israel was one that got me. All those people out of work and the public denied the chance of seeing a good product.

I understand people not liking Musk, but I’m totally passive on things I am not interested in. It is not just US side of the world this happens. I don’t care who my bank have as a customer. I don’t like X, but not because of musk. I still read Harry Potter because I like the stories. The list goes on. I used to read the newspaper owned by a really dodgy individual who robbed pension schemes.

The spaceX video is amazing, I couldnt care less who owns it. I’m currently looking at getting one of their access points to stream video as a backup for terrestrial systems. Again, if it does what it claims, Musk himself is irrelevant. Everyone can do what they think best, but some decisions seem to be a bit extreme.
