Release form for audience at conference?

Hi All,

I am going to be shooting a presenter at a conference. This person wants me to shoot audience reaction shots. The final DVD will be passed out by to potential clients to show what the presentation is like. Basically promoting their business. I am fairly certain that to show the audience I would need release forms from everyone. Is this correct?

Thanks,
Scott

An alternative may be to post a sign at all doors through which audience members can enter, advising them of the recording and that they should not enter the room if they wish to not be recorded. I know this is done at some huge events (music concerts, etc.) where it is not really possible to have thousands of people sign release forms.

As usual, check with a lawyer to get a definitive answer for your particular case!

I second Martin's reply. I just got out of a Rascal Flatts concert. The ticket stub I remember said something along the lines of you could be imaged and by using this ticket you are giving your consent. Then at the gates to get in, there were a few signs saying basically the same.

You know, until I really started getting into this line of work, I never took notice of those things. :)
