Editor/???... I need title change advice
Okay, so long story short I've been editing at a place that does it's own post and production and I've increasingly become the "go to" guy in terms of tackling workflow and technological hurdles (everything from standardizing our naming conventions to dissecting the pros/cons of adopting a completely tapeless workflow cradle to grave) so now they basically are creating a new position for me and I'm trying to figure out what an appropriate title would be. Editing is still my primary job, so I'm looking for "editor/something else" but I have no idea the "something else" should be. Any suggestions?

Technical Production Supervisor
Technical Production Director Digital Technology Coordinator |
How about Operations Manager?

Cool, thanks for the suggestions guys.

Personally, I'd go for 'Supervising Bit Wrangler" and enjoy the puzzled look on people's faces at parties.

I'm with Bill, call yourself what you like. Traditionally, the role you describe is Supervising Editor or Head of Post-Production. Personally though, if I could proscribe my own job title I'd go for something a little more colorful than Senior Editor and the like.

I was kicking around this idea, Digital Workflow Coordinator of Technical Operations Management Supervisor in Chief. I couldn't fit it on my card though...
