Question about public domain movies
 
I found this site, retrofilms.com, that offers many public domain films. Now, I've found a few of these same films offered for sale on DVD at amazon.com.

Am I right in assuming I could buy one of these DVD's and do whatever I please with the movie (other than possibly the menus)?

No, that would not be garantueed. The movie on the disc might
be copyrighted, it might not be. Best to check with the source
I think.
