Thanks Richard.
I'm sure it was written by a lawyer. One of the guitar players IS a lawyer for his day job and he's the one who wrote it. I'm starting to get leary about this but I'm already committed in more ways than one. This is my first gig as a producer so I guess I'll have to chalk this up to experience. When we actually get to the editing phase I plan to present them with a revised contract since a contract can be changed at any point. This contract strictly applies to the shoots. |

Don't bow down at the alter of the contract writer, lawyer or not. Sounds like they went to the law library and cut and pasted something together without paying attention to what is said. Furthermore, since you didn't contribute to the content, it would only be luck if it included the business 'deal' you want. Always, Always write the business agreement in English between yourself and the other party. Then get it re-written by a lawyer so it complies with the law in your location and concisely and clearly reflects what you want. No offense meant, Paul. |
