Do you have popcorn hazard insurance?

After all, I might choke on it, or inhale it or maybe it would trigger a second attack of diverticulitis and they'd have to remove six inches of my gut, or something. And then the surgery might be filmed by a crew who were dressing up as fake doctors to get access to the operating room so they could make a low budget horror flick.

I can see it all now "Frankenstein meets US health insurance system!"

So... hotel room...

... I know what the answer is going to be but I have to ask--if we shoot a scene in a hotel room that we rent (no, this isn't a porno), even if we got away with it, we'd have to get a release from the owner of the hotel or at least the manager, right?

A follow up, is it easier to get forgiveness than permission? I.e., could a very charming intern/girl go to the hotel manager and say she filmed a scene, didn't realize she needed permits, insurance, etc. and now wants to include it in a film fest? And with big puppy dog eyes? Would the hotel manager ever (likely) sign a post facto release?
