royality formula

For a better word I used formula. I am going to be doing a lot of video taping of interviews and some informational pieces. I will be doing compensations with flat fees but also I need to set up some type of payment for royalities to them. Is there any pub. out there that I can find the standard persents payed for royalitites?

There is no "standard" royalty fee. That's why there are agents and lawyers. The reason is that paying a royalty, usually means there must be an accounting.

A fair and accurate one.

Just ask Stan Lee how easy it is to get that. Or Art Buchwald.

Having said that, only you can decide how much to offer, and what to base it on. There are some excellent legal resources out there, use them. Failing that, buy a book. Here's a couple off my shelf.

Film and Video Financing by Michael Wiese

Independent Feature Film Production by Gregory Goodell

Making Movies by John Russo

and perhaps the two most usefull books I own-

Dealmaking in the Film Television Industry

and

Contracts for the FIlm Television Industry both by Mark Litwak
