Depends on how much you need the work/money versus can you manage without them. Don't bite the hand that feeds, so to speak.

Personally though I get a bad vibe from it.The lack of contract is odd, especially for a fairly big company outsourcing. And I mean that both ways. For instance, what if you (or another shooter) were to shoot a days work somewhere and mistakenly double booked or forgot about it. What repurcussions would they have? Emails?

And yeah, it's to cover yourself & payments on your end. The previous delayed payments and hassles seem annoying already, who's to say how stable they are (taking from Peter to pay Paul sorta thing). As John Nantz mentioned I'm not sure I like the guys attitude in reading his response. Like he's copping an attitude, I'd try my best to drop them if I can but it depends on how valuable they are to you and how much $ you need from them.

What started out as a question about contracts has turned into venting about a person and company. As a professional it is not a direction that I would take.

Didnt read the whole thread but did see the incredibly rude reply email from your client. That to me is a huge red flag, not at all a professional way of communicating. It reeks of the lower end clients that I have dealt with who really don’t know what they’re doing and are generally wasting our time. If it were ME I’d happily part ways with this person/company. However, I don’t know how badly you need the business.
