script rights/use
 

Well, I've been searching for over an hour an unable to turn anything up.

I found a short script that I want to use for my next short film. I am in communication with the writer, and he has given me permission to use the script for my film - permission granted through email.

However, I feel like there should be some sort of redtape paperwork form for him to sign. Granting permission to use the script, acceptance of any changes that I may need to make as director, etc etc. Seems strange that i haven't been able to find anything like that.

Am I searching for something that isn't needed/doesn't exist?
