Smooth Ride

Whats the best way to put a camera on the hood of a car and reduce the camera shake as i film a seq down a farm property ? appox distance 800 meters across a dirt road.

Ive done a few test so far but the camera shake is really unusable.
I have used a small bean bag, pillows,tripod..... I need to find a cheep soultion.

Any ideas?
Cheers

Can you put the car on a trailer?

Go for a 1/2 gyro made of PVC mounted in the front wheel wells or brackets under the hood Similar to a giant 1/2 Manfrotto Fig Rig. I made one once and it worked great! In fact I need to build a new one come to think of it. If I remember right it cost around 50 bucks or so. I did not test this on a farm road but you could add some rubber to help stabilize further. Hope you get the picture I am trying to draw for you. I wish I had a pic of the old one I made.
