question about using Sony DSR-390 for film-making?

I have a Sony DSR 390 Camcorder, and was wondering if I can use this camera to shoot a movie, and then transfer it onto 35mm Film, is that possible? In other words by using a DSR 390 would I be able to have it look like film? (putting in mind lighting and editing to achieve that purpose of course)

And are DSR 390 better than Canon XL 1's or the other way around, in the field of film-making?

A DSR390 would be substantially better than an XL1 in all ways. While you can't really shoot film-looking video with a DSR390, once the film transfer house transfers it up to film, they'll take care of most of the look for you. It'll turn out fine provided you listen to your lab and follow their recommendations.

Fantastic, Hamad! Nice cam!
Enjoy your video/film adventures!
Forget about the XL1S!

Thanks a lot guys for your information and time...

But just one more thing, do I also need a special cinema lens and filters to go along with my DSR 390? I have a Canon 19inch lens, would that be enough? And if it is not enough what types of lenses and filters do you suggest for me, in order to help me achieve a cinematic look to my movie?
