Dpi

while looking for an easy way to make my canon xl1s appear to be film, i had heard someone mention about altering the DPI. i was wondering what that is? i am fairly new to this.

i also, as a follow up question, i was wondering whether or not it was possible to alter the frames per second as you would with a film camera if you wanted to get smooth slow motion/fast motion. thanks for the help/

The only DPI I know is "Dots Per Inch" and is usually used when
talking about printing and such. Not sure how this relates to this.

You cannot alter the frame per second being recorded on any
con-/pro-sumer camera. Fast motion is no problem with an NLE
since you can just have it skip frames and such. Slow motion is
what people usually want that is a problem since you can't really
insert new frames. You can interpolate, but it will never look as
good.

Maybe you have DPI confused with DOF (depth of field) or FPS (frames per second)?...
