30p or 60i to 24p
Hello all,
I have no clue if what I am writing about sounds right at all, but here goes. I am working with a GL2 and usually shoot at 30p and some 60i footage here and there. I am also working with Final Cut Pro HD which includes Cinema Tools. I was wondering if there was a way to achieve 24p through that application by coverting the clips. I am not sure which works better to do that 30p or 60i. Any help would be appreciated a bunch. And let me know if I am going about this all wrong. Thanks for your time. Alex B. |
I think 60i is better to convert. Because with 30p you are already having 'a sort of' progressive way. I think you'll get bad results from deinterlacing (or how is it called?) 30P.
But I repeat: I'm not sure of it. Hope it helps. bye |

Cinema Tools is for removing pulldown in video clips that are allready 24, but have 3:2 pulldown added.
If you want 24p, shoot 60i at 1/60th shutter. Then please take a look at my Film Effects package for FCP - www.nattress.com which does a full 60i to 24p conversion, + all the other goodies like curves, bleach bypass, etc that help to make video look like film. There's a free demo too. Have fun! Graeme |
Thank you for your help everyone. Graeme I am intrested in that package, which demo do I need to download? Thanks for your help.
