White Balance and Filters

If you use the Tiffen Warming Black Pro-Mist (1/2) do you need to white balance with the filter off and then put it on or can you white balance with the filter on?

If it was just the Black Pro Mist (no warming) would you need to white balance with the filter off or can you white balance with it on?

Thanks,

TL

Although I have never used any filters.....I am thinking back to my days in school and filters are meant to give you a certain look so white balancing with them on would negate that look. I'd white balance sans filter then add the filter. It is the same deal if you gel a light. If you white balance then put the gel on your picture wont look right. Hope this helps.
