Actually the raw footage, or close to it. Perhaps the raw footage after unusable shots are removed, but very early in the process.

I mean, given the raw footage and before you have crafted a story out it, what would a disinterested third party conclude was the story (and conclude about the characters), given only the raw footage. It can be good to get an independent viewpoint.

As I said, I was very surprised at the little things other people thought were highly amusing and otherwise very interesting that I might have thrown out.
