What are your gain settings? If you are shooting in dim conditions and your camera is compensating by raising the gain, the graininess and lack of color will become apparent. The VX2000 is considered a very good camera in low light, so it may actually have less grain due to less gain needed in low light. The only factor that causes "grain" is gain, so look there first then look at other settings that may be causing the gain to automatically increase. Make sure you don't use too severe of a ND filter that may be causing gain increase.
