White clipping for Film?

Hello, all! I just have a quick question. What happens if you get some of your whites clipped in your shot, and you transfer the footage to film? Does it look bad? Does it simply look less like film? Can it be used as an artistic choice, to completely blow out the whites?

Thoughts? Comments?

If it's a generally high-contrast, high saturation, "bleached" effect it could be artistic, but if the clipping occurred accidentally I doubt that it will look good on film. Clipped whites=no information available.
