Victor, what you are looking for is called "Thread Subscription", and when you write a post, you see that in the additional options below the text box you write in.
You may choose "Instant notification" to have an email sent to the email account you specified when signing up for dvinfo, immediately when someone post after you.

You can change your settings in the "Controls" in the main menu.
