Co Antrim, Ireland
Hello folks I work as a singer/musician and video maker. We shoot mostly theatre shows and training dvds. We have a long history in music making circles here which developed into making dvd,s for Irish theatre acts. We still shoot SD. The scenery along the Antrim coast is breathtaking with the green glens making a majestic backdrop. I would aspire to shoot with hdv cameras to try to capture the ancient beauty and nature of this place. So I read and lurk to gain knowledge of simple workflows to try to make the switch to hdv as painless as possible. Peace out Les

Greetings from Ireland
Hello all. Just dropping by to say hello. I'm a filmmaker working in the Dublin area, as an editor and director, in short films, music videos, and any other work I can pick up. Glad to be a part of such a brilliant and informative site. All the best, Kieran.

Hi,
Im currently making a set of video tutorials for music creation... im a director in www.sonic-dj-academy.com and we won a government competition for funding to develop a web site and to video all our courses... I had always been into making videos and had been using after effects and final cut (premier b4 i got my macs) for years for making visuals for my live music shows.. I decided to learn as much myself as possible as we didnt have the budget to create what we wanted by hiring profesionals... it seem to have worked out great and i have really enjoyed learning about the craft. Im shooting with a canon xh-a1 i have a basic lowel lighting kit and record direct to disk with capture magic (great prog developed by a great guy) http://www.bigmugsoftware.com/capturesd/ also using ishowu to capture screen grabs I have found this site amazingly helpful so big thanks to everyone for all the advice.. Hi. Thank you for great forum. Have HV10 and am about to purchase Canon XH A1. Inspired by some of films shown on site, especially those of Stephen Dempsey, and aspire to doing one half as well.
Thanks again. Kind Regards. Denis |
That's great Denis. Thanks for your order, I'll get the DVD out to you tomorrow.
Did you know I was born in Dublin? Spent the first 22 years of my life there :) |
Welcome to the forum!
And, congratulations to all the Irish for their countryman's victory at the "Open!" It was a very exciting last day and a lot of fun to watch!
